History revisited.

About, Music — henry @ 25 November 2009 14:24

So, Everpure as we knew it is not there anymore, and I just started digging into my back catalog and listened to some older stuff. I thought, it might be interesting (or at least funny) for you too to browse through some of my musical history.

I created a couple of pages for those numerous bands, projects and phases. Some stuff will be added in the near future – like photos, videos etc. And there is even some of the very early 80s recordings on the way, too. So remember to tune in for further discovery tours during the next weeks.

So, far I have uploaded almost the entire Everpure story from the 90s until recently. You can find it all at those links under Pages at the sidebar. As always, you can download all the songs and take them with you wherever you go, but please don’t steal anything of it for your own tunes or so. Thanks!

A story is over.

Dear friends and fans,

This is probably the saddest announcement I would have to make in a long time, but there is no other way to put it than saying it as straightforward as it is: Everpure is no more. I finally decided to put a full stop on a story that went on for about 15 years now. It’s been amazing times – creative, inspiring, and I learned a lot about making music, myself and not least the environment that I’d interact with all the time.

However, in the recent past, it became less fun, and more difficult to achieve well-working agreements with the rest of the band; both regarding commitments and artistic issues. And all that to a level that I don’t bother taking any further.

I really had wonderful days with all these incarnations of Everpure – the acoustic duo with Mole, the luxury artist trio including HaWe, my solo times during the Surgery By Numbers period (thank you, Peter, for that great title!), and of course playing with Beritt and Jonas at Copenhagen’s very own and most cool venue Lille Vega, being the most recent highlight. It has been a wonderful journey through so many musical styles and genres – all from singer/songwriter through indie rock to trip-hop inspired electronica – that this band might cover a quite extraordinary back catalog. And I will keep that in my heart forever.

But right now, my heart stopped beating for Everpure, and the book has to be closed to give space for a new book to be opened. I’m sure, all of us will find a new musical home eventually – just like Mole did with her band The Newts. So, stay tuned with Beritt, Jonas and myself at the various places on the web. And enjoy the past by listening to those songs and watching those videos that will remain on the never-forgetting internet.

Thank you very much to all of you.

Coming Soon: Some nice new software synth to play with.

It’s already looking great, seems to be easy to use and considering how his earlier synths sound, I would expect nothing less than really fantastic stuff to come out of it: Urs Heckmann’s new plug-in ACE (Any Cable Everywhere). I guess, I will have to get myself a copy as soon as it will be released! See more on the extra website here:

This day is probably one of the greatest days in recent German history.

This is great techno.

Xenia Beliayeva – Analog Effekt: Probably my favourite electro/techno tune this year.

Isn’t she beautiful?

Music, Nerd — henry @ 3 November 2009 23:23

I just purchased a wonderful – beautiful – new instrument. This time it’s nothing about computers or electronic devices at all. Instead, I found something on eBay that I had on my wishlist ever since I thought about guitars: A Fender Japan ‘66 Reissue Jazzmaster Left Hand.

Actually, it’s only Fender Japan, who build those classic models in left hand editions. Fender USA does not seem to think it’s necessary to serve those musicians – unless you’re Kurt Cobain or so… Anyway, here she is – and I can already confirm that she sounds great too!
